I am from Fort Collins, Colorado, and received a Master of Arts in Magazine, Newspaper & Online Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University (December 2011). My time at Syracuse University included a year-long fellowship appointment at The Post-Standard newspaper where I was a contributing writer reporting on community news as well as a web producer focusing on national and local sports coverage. I previously received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast News and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 2009.
I became interested in journalism at an early age when I dreamed of becoming a baseball play-by-play man or sports studio host. Over the years this evolved into a greater interest in writing/editing and social media.
